Xcaret Outside Vendor Playa del Carmen Photographer
Every family approaches their travel experience differently — and the same applies to planning a photo session.
Some families staying at Xcaret México are perfectly comfortable paying the outside vendor fee. For them, the convenience of staying on-site and keeping everything within the resort makes complete sense. It also allows access to a variety of curated backgrounds — architecture, gardens, pathways, and natural elements — all within the same location, making the cost simply part of the overall experience. For many families, this also means fewer transitions, less coordination, and a seamless flow throughout the day.
Others, while fully capable of covering the fee, prefer to be intentional with how they allocate their budget — choosing instead to explore beyond the resort and invest that amount elsewhere during their trip.
Both approaches are completely valid.
For families in the second group, Playacar Public Beach offers a refined and relaxed alternative just 10–20 minutes by taxi from Xcaret. The short ride allows families to arrive calmly, take a brief pause, and transition comfortably into the session. The area provides open coastal scenery, natural light, and a more spacious feel — all without additional resort-related costs.
It’s also worth noting that Playacar is a private residential complex. For the safety and privacy of residents and guests, vehicle access to the beach areas is restricted, and access is done on foot only. This results in a quieter, more controlled environment, but it also means that some walking is part of the experience.
Here’s a quick overview of the Playacar beach options, depending on your comfort level and preferences:
Playa del Carmen – Playacar – Beach Option 1
The most accessible option. Minimal walking and straightforward access, ideal for families with young children or grandparents.
Playa del Carmen – Playacar – Beach Option 2
A well-balanced choice. Slightly quieter than Option 1 while still offering easy access and a relaxed environment.
Playa del Carmen – Playacar – Beach Option 3
Located about a 20-minute walk from the nearest access point. Best suited for those who enjoy fewer crowds and don’t mind a bit of walking.
Playa del Carmen – Playacar – Beach Option 4
Reached by a longer coastal walk, this secluded stretch is ideal for families or couples seeking privacy and a more exploratory experience. Crowd levels vary by access point and time of day, which is why I help guide each family toward the option that best matches their comfort level.
A quick note for sessions at any public beach:
Depending on the access point, some walking is required, and in warm weather this can naturally lead to perspiration. To keep outfits fresh and avoid wrinkles or sweat marks, I recommend packing your session outfits and changing once we arrive at the location. Taking a short break to cool off before getting dressed helps ensure everyone looks and feels their best for the session.
What to bring for comfort and touch-ups:
Wet wipes or facial towels are very helpful for a quick refresh. I also recommend bringing a hair brush, a small purse mirror for last-minute checks, and a bottle of water to stay hydrated before and during the session — especially on warmer days.
If your preference is to have the session inside Xcaret, I’ll gladly guide you through the process and help you plan around the resort’s requirements, including the outside vendor fee.
If you’d rather meet at a nearby public beach, we can design an experience that feels just as thoughtful, relaxed, and visually refined. My role is to help you choose the option that feels effortless and aligned with how you want to experience your time here.
There’s no “right” choice — only the one that best aligns with your travel style, priorities, and how you want to experience your time here.
